An exceptional copy of an important and scarce microscopically printed miniature book. Inner blind ruled dentelles. Front paste-down endpaper with contemporary engraved bookplate in brown ink with motto "In Liefde Bloeiende" [blooming in love] and initials L.J.B. Above a beehive. The motto was associated with an Amsterdam Chamber of Rhetoric that faded into obscurity in the 18th century. Bottom and outer edges untrimmed. 57 x 88 mm. Contemporary or slightly later full brown calf in the 15th century style - unsigned but by a prominent French bookbinder; spine with four raised bands; covers blind stamped with 60 five-pointed stars within lattice bordersand geometric framework.
