Three volume set. Introduction à la Vie Dévote. 304 pages. Together with, La Journée du Chrétien, 1892, 320 pp. And La Sainte Communion. C'est Ma Vie! By Hubert lebon, 1890, 240 pp. All pages with red printed borders. Printed by Mame, Tours. All three volumes housed in stunning contemporary wood, leather and red velvet bookcase in the form of a pedestal throne with canopy - an unusual dais type design for books. The extensive  leather covering is densely hand-tooled with stars and other roccocco stylised ornaments. Four brass bun feet at the bottom. The velvet is largely rather worn and faded. Uniformly but mildly age-toned. All edges gilt. Original maroon and gilt decorated endpapers. 66 x 99 mm. Contemporary tan calf; gilt fleur-de-lys and lettering on spines with owner's initials -M.D. -  in blind; front covers with gilt embossed corn sheaves, bunches of grapes, crucifixes and other decorative devices. Spines slightly worn at head; some slight rubbing and very minor handling marks.
